I graduated from Torrington High School in 2000 and then attended Eastern Wyoming Community College. After graduating from E.W.C with an Associate degree in mathematics, I enrolled at the University of Wyoming. I completed my Bachelors degree in mathematics from U.W. in 2005. I then entered graduate school and have been a graduate student in pursuit of a PhD at the University of Wyoming since the fall semester of 2005.

My research is in the area of "real world" Partial Differential Equations. I employ analysis and P.D.E. theory to study the nature of solutions to a given P.D.E.. Currently I am studying a system of P.D.E.'s that ties into the field of enhanced oil recovery. Enhanced oil recovery, E.O.R., is any technique that allows for more oil to be removed from the ground than standard pumping techniques. E.O.R. is an international research project with the possibility of being implemented wherever there is oil around the globe. The particular E.O.R. technique that my research pertains to is fireflooding.

Through a combination of hands-on demonstrations, discussions, and computations I wish to teach the students a simplified version of Differential Equation theory, an introduction to mathematical analysis to be used on a dynamical system, and a mathematical understanding of a traveling wave. With an understanding of these three subjects the students will be able to grasp what I or any mathematical analysis does.
