Thank you for your patience!

The Science Posse is funded by  a Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) from the National Center for Research resources and the National Institutes of Health, a GK12 Grant from the National Science Foundation, and the University of Wyoming. The Posse includes graduate students from a variety of science fields who work to bring current science research, materials, resources, and information related to energy and water quality to middle school and high school science teachers around the state.

Our current Science Posse includes PhD students researching topics in

  • psychology
  • zoology
  • physiology
  • botany
  • ecology
  • geology
  • paleontology
  • mathematics

Our goals are to:

  1. Provide graduate students with an opportunity for public service and to increase their ability to translate their research into relevant and meaningful discourse.
  2. Increase student understanding and appreciation of what real scientists do.
  3. Encourage students to take more math and science courses in high school and to consider careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
  4. Increase teacher knowledge of developments and processes of modern science and or the best practices in science teaching.
  5. Increase public awareness and appreciation of science, research and education.

In meeting those goal, the Science Posse has traveled to :
