Bring the Posse to Your Class to Learn about the Fellows' Research and Careers in their Fields

The Science Posse is a great vehicle to get "real life scientists" into classrooms. Students see that what their science teachers have been telling them in class happens in the real world, and that it can be a career.

~Jamie Crait, Graduate Fellow

When the Science Posse members come into the classroom to talk about their research and careers, students begin to see that scientists are real people, and the enthusiasm of the graduate fellows sparks curiosity and a sense of possibility.

For planning purposes, talks can be adjusted to last between 15 to 30 minutes. (The longer talks will include more hands-on activities for students.) To encourage interaction between the Fellow and students, talks must be limited to between 15 and 30 students.(We are able to accommodate classes larger than this by splitting the students and doing several research talks concurrently.) Research and career talks are offered to middle and high school students.

We encourage you to read about each Fellow's area of expertise. If you are interested in a specific Fellow, please check the Science Posse calendar for his or her travel days.

I appreciate the Science Posse's willingness to travel to the far reaches of Wyoming to share their expertise. My students found out what is available beyond high school. The Posse inspires interest; their enthusiasm sets a great example for all kids, but especially for young women.
